As others have stated, I can'y figure out how it works - but it does! It dramatically reduces shedding for our Golden Retriever and she seems to find it soothing. We also use it occassionally for our cats, a Domestic Short Hair and a fluffy Maine Coon. The DSH LOVES it. The Maine Coon seems to "accept" it.
