I have seen adds for the Furminator and have seen it at my local pet stores but I never wanted to spend over $30 for a cat brush especially since I have two brushes already. I saw the Furminator here on Amazon for such a good price I thought, I will give it a try and boy am I glad I did. I cannot believe how much fur we get off of our cats. What typically would take us at least a half hour of brushing with our old brushes comes off in a matter of min. which makes our two cats happy as they do not enjoy being brushed for very long. The fur comes off in bunches so it is important that if you use this you should be in a location that is easy to clean as there will be so much cat hair coming off that small tuffs can end up on the carpet. After being Furminated our cats look so nice. There coats are shinny, very healthy looking, and they feel very soft and fluffy to pet. We have also noticed significant reduction of hairball formation. As a true test we broght the Furminator to my inlaws where they have four cats and one of them has not be brushed in months as she hates it. First off she actually enjoyed the Furmination for a time and afterwords it was like a night and day difference in her coat and the overall look and feel of her fur. Well, after finding a brand new, Large sized Furminator on sale on Amazon for only $21.99, I decided to take the plunge...and all I can say is WOW! What a huge difference. Interestingly enough, I just saw the Furminator at Petsmart still selling for $59.99.

I have a 3 yr old German Shepherd, and the Furminator does such a great job of removing both loose undercoat and top coat fur with little effort. With the cheap knock-off, I really had to apply a decent amount of pressure during each brush stroke just to get the thing to pick up my shepherds loose undercoat, but the Furminator requires very little pressure...actually they recommend against using forceful pressure during brush strokes. Just a few brush strokes with the Furminator removed a ton of undercoat hair from my shepherd, so much more than an entire session with the cheap knock-off brand. The Furminator is a solid tool and seems to have a much higher quality brush blade than the knock-off brand.

This is a great product. I have an Australian Shepherd,a Labrador and a cat. This works better on long hair, I get gobs and gobs of it off the Aussie.
