This is really great! The Large size(4") is just right for my Springer/Lab. I use the FURminator on the thick, undercoat but I still use our old brush for the long fur on her ears, tail and legs - the FURminator is not meant for getting out tangles.

The first few uses, we got mountains of fur (which would otherwise end up on our floors). Now of coarse we get much less. Happily, we don't have to vacuum as often and our dog gets excited as soon as I mention getting the "brush". She likes it a lot!

I don't believe it rips or cuts the fur. When I use it on her belly, very little comes off. If it was cutting the fur I'm sure it would take if from anywhere on the dog.

As others have mentioned, it's not cheap but it's built to last and I wouldn't part with it.

Let me start off by saying that we have two black labs, we live in North Carolina, it's June, and yesterday it was 100 deg. My dogs shed in huge, hairy clumps that float around the house like giant mutant dust bunnies; living organisms that leap on anything that passes near them.

We've tried the loop de-shedder, shedding brushes, etc... After watching the furminator video and seeing all the hair it took off the dogs I thought, "either this is going to be the biggest rip-off, or it will really work."

I AM SO GLAD I BOUGHT THIS! The Furminator blows everything else out of the water.

Within 5 minutes of using this 4 inch product (outside - you really should do this outside), I relieved Bandit of a supermarket shopping bag full of hair that would otherwise have found its way to our couch, bed, clothes, rugs, food, etc.

The product is very easy to use. Getting the hair off the Furminator after brushing is easy - just pull it away from the comb and the hair slides right off. Every downward stroke took out handfuls of loose undercoat. It was amazing. And judging by the way he just sat down and relaxed, Bandit loved every minute of it. I did it again the next day and had just as much hair at first, but then it started to fill the bag less and less. Consistent use and a couple of baths and I'm sure we'll be down to a minimal amount of hair removal. I plan on continuing in the winter so that they'll shed less next summer.

Best of all the Furminator left their coats shiny, smooth and didn't cut or destroy their coats.

Today the giant mutant hair balls floating around the house are already noticeably less. This was so worth the money - I just wish I had known about this years ago!

We went from vaccuuming every other day to once a week during shedding season for 2 German Shepherds. I bought the Furminator at the recommendation of my Vet. And it really does work. I have a large german shepherd mix, and a small short haired black and white mutt. So there is not a color of clothing that you can wear that you aren't going to end up with hair showing. How often do we read glowing advertisement of a product, only to be disappointed in how it works! Well, that is not the case here. I have a 13 year old yellow lab who sheds all the time and terribly twice a year.
