I have 2 cats - a long-hair and a short-hair. The long-hair is the one needing the most brushing, as his hair knots up. He's never been particularly patient with brushing of any kind unless I get him 'stoned' on catnip and relaxing. He tolerated the Furminator fairly well.
The short-hair LOVES any sort of brushing, I had to be careful not to brush her bald because she would have stood there until there wasn't a single follicle left.
