I have two dogs, a husky and a lab mix and this thing works great when I brush them. I tested it out using my other brushes first and this still removed lots of hair off of both of them. It definitely reduces the hair I get in the house when I keep up on brushing them regularly. I used to have to vacuum 2-3 times per week. If I keep up on brushing it is only once a week.
