I agree with the other positive reviews.
We have two dogs, the one we bought the "tool" for is a medium hair large mixed breed and it works very well, especially getting the undercoat. The other dog has very short and fine hair and it does not work at all, we just use a regular bristle brush.
This is a sharp "tool" and should be handled carefully for the user and the dog, but it works extremely well.
