I have three cats, one of which has a particularly severe shedding and dandruff problem. Until I tried the FURminator, one grooming tool just didn't address both of these problems. I would have to brush her to work on the excess hair, then wipe her down with a lint mitt to tackle the dandruff. No more! The FURminator handles each of these issues: 1. it removes enough hair that you could make a guinea pig after each use, 2. the hair stays put in the tool's "teeth" (rather than flying around, as you brush), 3. the dandruff clings to the excess hair and is not re-deposited on the cat's coat! And...she LOVES it! I would suggest testing out the FURminator's teeth on your arm, so you may judge their sharpness. Doing so brought me to the conclusion that the tool should just be dragged along my kitty's coat, rather than coming into contact with her skin. Size "small" is perfect for my purpose.
