After skimming through some of the 1000s of reviews for the Furminator, I decided to give it a try. I have a 14 month old lab who sheds excessively...twice a year, unfortunately =( I have used it for a few weeks now and it definitely helps "pull out" loose hair as you comb it through the dog's hair. It's better than the typical dog comb/brush. Unfortunately, you can't comb your dog for a few minutes and expect to be done with it... the Furminator doesn't take out all the loose hair out in one shot. You would need to spend a good 20-30 min combing depending on the type of dog hair you have.
