I bought this for my 2 yr old, 20lb. Jackairn and it works great for getting his undercoat off. My only complaint is that the blade guard doesn't fit well at all and constantly falls off. My husband knocked this off the table, the blade guard fell off and a few of the teeth broke as a result.
