I was skeptical of this product at first. We have a wire-haired dachshund and a basset, so our family was desperate for some relief from the shedding. The first time I used the FURminator, the undercoat of both dogs filled our back porch floor. Unbelievable. Neither dog minded the combing action, and waited patiently while their owner marveled at the huge tufts of undercoat that melted away with each stroke. I love this tool. Got the smallest one because of our smaller dog, but would recommend the medium size for a basset owner. There's alot more "territory" to cover with a dog that size.
