I have a 35 lb corgi mixed with black and tan coonhound. He has a waterproof overcoat and a soft, seasonal undercoat that clogs vaccuums simply because there is soo much of it. I thought the large would be too big for him because he's a small-medium sized dog but it was actually perfect. It worked so well--he looked like a completely different dog!
